Fusion biopsy is a minimally invasive procedure that, using fusion software, combines the images obtained from multiparameter MRI with those obtained from ultrasound in real time.
The result is a 3D image of the prostate gland, in which suspected PCa lesions can be accurately located, enabling a more precise targeted biopsy and more personalized treatment planning, such as Focal Therapy.
Focal Therapy offers active treatment on localized PCa, with a decrease in morbidity, since it is limited to treating a part of the prostate (hemiablation) or the dominant lesion, respecting the rest of the prostate gland and the neurovascular structures and sphincteris.
